| Below is a
pictorial demonstrating the steps required for a pen turner at
McKinneyPens to make your one of a kind custom pen. |
| At
this point the wood is absolutely beautiful but we aren't done yet.
We
sand the finish with a 10,000 and 12,000 micromesh to bring out more beauty
hidden in the wood. |
Now we apply two coats of Renaissance wax to both protect the pen from
moisture and prevent finger prints. |
Now for the buffing. |
After applying
another coat we give it the final polish.
Now it's ready to be made into your
pen. |
| |
We then press all of the required pieces into
the pen tubes that we previously glued into the wood blanks.
This particular pen is a Baron style pen. |
| |
The finished pen is then examined to make sure that it will be well beyond
your expectations. |
